HVEDC Opens Nation's First MakerBot Innovation Center at SUNY New Paltz

Last month, we celebrated the opening of the nation's first MakerBot 3D Printing Innovation Center at SUNY New Paltz with MakerBot Founder, Bre Pettis, who is often called the "Steve Jobs of 3D Printing." HVEDC President & CEO, Larry Gottlieb, joined HV3D partners, SUNY New Paltz, Hudson River Ventures and Central Hudson for this celebration and milestone achievement, surrounded by a sea of business leaders, faculty and students. This marks the next incredible chapter in HVEDC's HV3D initiative.

New Paltz celebrated the opening of the nation's first MakerBot Innovation Center with a press event and ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, Feb. 11. More than 100 people, including members of the business community, students, faculty and staff, attended the event, which was followed by a lecture by MakerBot CEO Bre Pettis.

SUNY New Paltz 3D Initiative

SUNY New Paltz has embarked on an ambitious 3D Printing Initiative. The organizational home of this effort is the Hudson Valley Advanced Manufacturing Center at SUNY New Paltz. The Center integrates the College's strengths in engineering, computer science, technology, and the innovation and creativity of the arts.
